UNI Apro meets with Vietnam National Union of Information and Communication Workers, 21 November 2016, Hanoi, Vietnam
On 21 November 2016, UNI Apro marks the start of a series of intensive meetings in Vietnam with a visit to the Vietnam National Union of Information and Communication Workers (VNUICW) in Hanoi. The UNI Apro delegation was led by Brother Christopher Ng, Regional Secretary of UNI Apro. He was accompanied by Bro Kun Wardana Abyoto, Director of UNI Apro ICTS, Sis Alice Chang, Director of UNI Apro Commerce) and Bro Chau Nyat Binh, UNI Apro Country’s coordinator in Vietnam.
They were received by VNUICW's officials: Bro Chu Van Binh, President, and Vice Presidents Bro Tran Vu Ha and Bro Thai Binh Thinh as well as other executive members.
The UNI Apro delegation and VNUICW had a candid exchange of views on trade union development in Vietnam and in the region. VNUICW also shared about the challenges they faced in helping their members to maintain relevance due to the globalisation of Vietnam’s economy. They currently represent 78,000 members from the postal, telecommunications, IT, media and publication unions.
