UNI calls on Prosegur to enter constructive dialogue
UNI Management Committee pledges to continue efforts on worker rights at Prosegur
The UNI Management Committee supports the continued efforts to hold Prosegur accountable for its poor record on worker rights and calls upon the company to enter constructive dialogue for the good of all.
Head of UNI Property Services, Eddy Stam said, “UNI Global Union aims to raise the standards in the private security industry via dialogue and good faith with employers. The fact that Prosegur rejects any constructive dialogue, and even mediation from the OECD NCP, shows the true heart of this company. They want to continue maximizing profits at the expense of their employees and stubbornly refuse to accept any advice from outside of the organisation. This is an unworkable and unsustainable business model and it must be challenged.”
The UNI MC echoed the decision of the UNI Property Services Steering Committee that agreed to keep on pursuing dialogue by monitoring and exposing the company’s behavior using all available means.
Members of the UNI MC concluded, “We simply cannot allow this large multinational to get away with a business model built upon disregard for worker rights. The aim is not to hurt the company but to improve the life of workers.”
