UNI Resolutions Committee gets together in preparation for World Congress in Liverpool
ollowing the meeting of the Management Committee, UNI hosted the Resolutions Committee in preparation for the World Congress in Liverpool. The Resolutions Committee reviews all motions and amendments to these motions submitted by affiliates and makes recommendations, how all of these can be integrated.
The chair of the Resolutions Committee, Trevor Johnson of BIGWU (Trinidad&Tobago) will present these recommendations to Congress for adoption.
Alke Boessiger, Secretary of the RC and future DGS of UNI, said, “the motions and related recommendations by the Resolutions Committee form the backbone of our congress, but more importantly they will form the strategic vision of UNI Global Union over the next four years.”
The Resolutions Committee consolidated 17 motions and is proposing to address the following 9 motions at Congress:
- Breaking through / Organising
- Sustainable Economy
- Future World of Work
- Peace, Democracy, Human rights
- Media freedom
- Violence at work
The Committee is comprised of representatives from all UNI regions, sectors and groups and meets the 40 % gender representation requirements.
