UNI Women at FIFPro Women's Conference
UNI Equal Opportunities Head of Department, Veronica Fernandez Mendez, took the stage at the two-day women's football conference taking place at FIFPro Headquarters in Amsterdam.
FIFPro, the International Federation of Professional Footballers, represents more than 65,000 football players, both men and women, in over 60 national player's associations around the world.
The conference, will include amongst other things, a presentation on the results of the first-ever FIFPro global survey of working conditions for female players.
During her presentation, Fernandez Mendez, included an introduction to UNI Global Union, as well as the work carried out by the UNI Equal Opportunities department, including campaigns such as the 40for40 (uni40for40.org), on increasing women representation, and Breaking Through (en.breakingthecircle.org), on violence against women. It was also an opportunity to discuss the importance of women athletes to the work carried out by UNI Global Union and the need for gender equality in the sport.
