Breaking: Amazon Appeal Rejected in France
The following statement can be attributed to Christy Hoffman General Secretary of UNI Global Union:
“The court's decision to dismiss Amazon's appeal in France means that it’s time for Amazon to start behaving like a responsible employer and establish productive relationship with labor unions in France and elsewhere so we can all focus on what matters right now—to help save lives, beat the virus and rebuild our economies.”
“This crisis can be an opportunity for Amazon to learn that social dialogue and collective bargaining are vital tools that modern societies and companies use to protect workers’ health and save people's lives.”
Representing more than 20 million workers from over 150 different countries in the service sectors, UNI Global Union and our affiliates in all regions are driven by the responsibility to ensure these jobs are decent and workers’ rights are protected, including the right to join a union and collective bargaining.
