UNI MENA Mentoring Program: more women for union growth
Every year, the UNI Mentoring Program keeps expanding to include and prepare more women in union work.
Unions from Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan are the new additions to this program which currently has 39 countries working from all over the world. The 40 participants to the two-day workshop will join the more than 500 women who have been working on issues like: training on collective bargaining and negotiation skills, training on leadership and communication skills, awareness raising campaigns and workshops for women, training on union structures and union work; and building women’s networks.
Unlike other opening workshops of the Mentoring Program, the two-day workshop, which is taking place in Amman, Jordan; will focus on building Mentors, by strengthening leadership and communication skills.
For the next two years, these new Mentors will continue to help train more women in union work, raising their visibility in the union and supporting them in search of leadership positions.
