Standard Chartered Bank inks the Collective Agreement with CBEU Sri Lanka

Amidst the social distancing measures and meeting restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and Ceylon Bank Employees Union entered into a Collective Agreement for 2021-2023.

Channa Dissanayake, President of CBEU, hailed the spirit of Standard Chartered Bank management coming forward to revise the terms and conditions of employment of their employees during a challenging time. Channa said this action would certainly motivate the staff to give in their best to improve the bank’s business performance and customer service.

On behalf of the CBEU and the Standard Chartered Bank Branch members, CBEU President appreciated the cooperation extended by the Senior Manager, Employee Relations Mr Gajendraprasath Nagaraja and the corporate management of the SCB. Channa acknowledged the excellent facilitation by the Employers Federation of Ceylon (EFC) and thanked Mr Wijaya Hettiarchchi of the EFC for all the assistance rendered.

The agreement signed on 9th July 2021 at the Shangri la Hotel, Channa Dissanayake and Vice President Anupa Nandula signed on behalf of CBEU and CEO Mr Bingumal Thevarathanthri and Ms Ransi Dharmasiriwardhana Head of Human Resources signed the agreement on behalf of the bank.

CBEU Branch Union officials attached SCB Colombo witnessed the signing ceremony.
