After months of stalled negotiations, Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale\u2019s refusal to fairly distribute its profits<\/strong> was the final straw. With 14,600 signatures<\/strong> backing their demands, UNI affiliates FBA CFDT and FSPBA CGT held a strike<\/strong> on 25 March 2025.<\/p>\r\n Their key issues: fair pay, improved working conditions, job security and an end to overwhelming commercial pressure. The message is clear: Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale cannot ignore its workers<\/strong>. But despite the workers\u2019 dedication \u2013 navigating restructurings, increasing workloads, and job insecurity \u2013 management continues to show them little respect.<\/p>\r\n At BNP Paribas Fortis<\/strong>, management is pushing ahead with plans to transfer around 600 employees<\/strong> from the Client Service Centre to Accenture, an external consultancy. This move prioritises cost-cutting over workers\u2019 rights and contradicts BNP Paribas\u2019 commitments to social dialogue and job security.<\/p>\r\n UNI affiliates ACLVB\/CGSLB, BBTK\/SETCA and ACV-Puls\/CNE have tirelessly voiced their opposition, demanding transparency and alternative solutions \u2013 but management refuses to listen. On 3 April 2025, workers went on strike<\/strong> to ramp up pressure and protect their colleagues\u2019 futures. Their message is clear: “We are not for sale!”<\/p>\r\n UNI and its affiliated unions stand firmly behind the striking workers<\/strong>. The finance industry thrives because of its workforce, not despite it.
