The final event of the Creative Skills Europe project was held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Tuesday 5th of February 2019. It was hosted by Film i Väst, the West Sweden regional film fund, and organised in partnership with Kulturakademin, the regional cultural training programme for professionals in film, television and the performing arts.
Closing a two-year period of intense activities, the meeting aimed at looking back at the key outcomes of the thematic discussions held in the course of the last two years in different European cities and at exploring avenues for future collaborations, both through practical co-operations and in the context of the European social dialogue.
During the exchanges, participants shared concrete ideas of potential actions to be developed at European level to respond to the most urgent skills needs of the sector. Those ideas concern – among the many topics discussed – the development of e-learning platforms, the sharing of existing training contents to support the skills development of freelancers or the set-up of practical frameworks for an enhanced recognition of qualifications and competences across EU borders.
UNI MEI, which has been leading the Creative Skills Europe partnership since 2014, is looking forward to share the project publications with its affiliates in the Spring of 2019 and to explore with its social dialogue partners the way forward on a topic that will remain at the heart of the sector’s concerns.
