UNI’s statement on Teleperformance continuing full-service content moderation

Following Teleperformance’s announcement that it will continue providing clients with full-service content moderation, UNI Global Union has issued this statement:

Content moderation is difficult but essential work that makes the internet safer for us all, and UNI Global Union has always called for this work to be done responsibly with workers’ well-being at the centre. Last year, UNI signed a global agreement with Teleperformance that includes binding commitments to do so, including a working group on content moderation.

With the commitments in our agreement, we believe that Teleperformance’s decision to reenter full-service content moderation is a positive step. We look forward to working with the company to further enhance worker safety and mental health.
