On this May Day 2021, in line with UNI Global’s May Day message, UNI Apro pledges its commitment to build forward by working with affiliates, to empower unions to bargain for better job and income security, and for better protection at the workplace.
UNI Apro Regional Secretary Rajendra Acharya in a video message, said that with millions of jobs and lives affected by the pandemic, it has been a tough time for unions and workers over the past year.
UNI Apro had echoed the call for better protection and respect for workers essential rights. And it will strive to work with UNI Global Union and fellow Global Union Federations to change global rules to recognise safety and health at workplace is a fundamental right. It will also work toward to getting governments to recognise Covid-19 as an occupational disease.
