Eight Years Without Profit Sharing: Casino Fiesta Workers Demand Labour Justice with Protest

Faced with the continued violation of their labour rights, the Sole Union of Casino and Related Workers of Peru (SUTECA) has called for a protest today in front of Casino Fiesta in Miraflores.

This action aims to shed light on the injustice faced by the workers of this establishment, who have been denied their profit-sharing payments – unlike other employees within the same corporation.

SUTECA’s General Secretary, Iván Panta, denounced this situation as “a clear violation of current labour laws” and called for the immediate intervention of the National Superintendence of Labour Inspection (SUNAFIL) and the Ministry of Labour. “We cannot allow a company of this magnitude to continue refusing to fulfill its obligations. Our fight is for justice and respect for the rights of all workers,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, UNI Americas’ Regional Secretary, Marcio Monzane, expressed his support for the mobilization and highlighted the importance of union solidarity in these critical moments. “This is a call for unity. We will not allow big corporations to continue taking advantage of their workers. The international community is watching, and we will support all necessary actions to ensure that the company complies with the law,” he stated.

SUTECA calls on all labour organizations and citizens committed to defending workers’ rights to join this peaceful demonstration. The presence and support of the community will be essential to achieving change and ensuring fair working conditions for all.
