Global teamwork for an ILO Convention and recommendation against violence and harassment in the world of work

On the 10th and 11th of September, in the City of Panamá, the ITUC, with the support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation, congregated more than 30 union leaders from all over the world to discuss the amendments to the brown document, which is one more step towards a convention and recommendation on ending  violence and harassment at the workplace. The Report V(1) on Ending Violence and harassment in the world of work (also known as the brown report) contains the  first draft text of a proposed Convention with its rrecommendation, and includes proposals from the ILO Office for adjustments to the Conclusions that were adopted in June 2018.

The coordination of the ITUC provided for the framework for excellent group work which also allowed for the establishment of an action plan for the next eight months.
