Bangladesh: National Shop Employees Federation submits memorandum to Department of Inspections for Factories and Establishments

On 4th December 2018, the National Shop Employees Federation, affiliated with UNI, submitted a memorandum for 6 lawful demands to improve the working conditions of shop floor employees. The demands include: two festival bonuses, appointment letter, weekly holiday, salary in every month within 1st week of the month.

Mr. Shamsuzzaman Bhuiyan represented the Inspector General, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, Ministry of Labour and Employment in Bangladesh, to receive the demands and held a fruitful dialogue with the NSEF delegates. Bro Rafiqul Islam Babul and Bro Amirul Haque Amin, representing the NSEF as the President and General Secretary respectively, presented the memorandum.  Bro. Kamal, representing UNI BLC was also present and expressed his solidarity with the NSEF’s call for better working conditions.
